February 12: Red Hand Day
The day February 2, 2002, marks the date of inception of the Additional Protocol to the UN Convention. This day is celebrated internationally as the day to combat the recruitment of child soldiers and called the Red Hand Day. The symbol of the struggle is a red hand with the following message: Stop! The red hand is used as a symbol of the global campaign of the Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers (Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers) and also the German alliance Coordination to Combat Recruitment of Child Soldiers (Deutsches Bündnis Kindersoldaten)
